Brandon Dougherty

I studied and received a degree in Visual Communication and Design with an Emphasis in Photographic Imaging. Long winded, I know.

More often than not, I tell people I have a degree in Fine Art Photography. I was fortunate to be trained in the foundational art and design principles and art history as well as my focus in photography.

I love visual storytelling and atmosphere. I have always been obsessed with lighting and color and influenced heavily by films from the 1980’s. Growing up, I was an actor, a serial drawer, and was always found making something, recreating something, drawing shot-by-shot cartoons of my favorite films. I lived primarily in my imagination much to the disappointment of my teachers, I’m sure.

I always say there is no right way to do something as long as you can communicate it effectively in the visuals. I really believe and thrive in creative problem solving. Sometimes the answer to visual design is just in making it work somehow.
